disney dreams

i had an amazing friday. there were multiple "highs."

1) I got to spend a day at disneyland with a group of probably my favorite people in the whole wide world.
2) One of my best friends PACKED me a sack lunch. That brought me right back to the third grade in an awesome way.
3) indiana jones... 3 times... need i say more?
4) I beat Jeremiah at Astro-blasters... oh yeah.
5) (and definitely the highlight) I had the privilege of watching two of my most dear friends get engaged.
6) I got a blow-out on the freeway... and didnt die.

overall a great day.

in the midst of walking around all day amongst all of the happy disneyland-goers, i got a chance to kind of reflect on my world. its crazy to think how many different types of people gather together at disneyland, and for so many different reasons. for some, its a family outing, others its a first date, for some its a silver anniversary, and for some (like my friends) it was a day to make a life-long decision. and in the center of all that diversity, i couldn't help but appreciate the world around me a little bit more.

the world i get to live, and the dreams i get to pursue each day are extremely valuable to me. and i realize a little more each day, that God has a unique interest in me and in my dreams and pursuits. that whether its music, love, art, quiet time, movies, or whatever... God wants to uniquely journey with me through it. and the best part of it all is that God gives me the freedom to fail... to fall flat on my face, and still... run into the arms of grace and love quicker than my fall.

each of us is created in a unique and beautiful way. each of us have different desires, different dreams. and despite all of our differences, there sits God. devoting (him)self to us. to our littlest smiles and our biggest victories... from our little falls off of the bicycle to the great leaps down the canyons. God has devoted (him)self to us. to me... and we / i have the freedom to live.
